Asante Primary school

Asante Primary school, built in 2011, is located in Ngozi Burundi, the second largest city in the country of Burundi. Burundi is the second poorest country in the world by GDP per capita. Our work in Burundi started in 2010 with a child sponsorship program educating 600 children. The school was built to support this work and was handed over to the locals. The school sent a children’s choir to the United States in 2012 and the children sang at notable venues such as Intel, Google, Facebook, and also performed for the former US President George H.W Bush. The school has been supported by two first ladies of Burundi and continues to be a beacon of hope in this improvised community.
